Basic Mantra: “Disturb the comfortable; Comfort the disturbed." I am a writer & artist & photographer & fool. I try to use my fractal focus and obsessive tendencies to illuminate the edges of invisibility. I can usually be found around town snapping pics of locals, chasing my kids, drawing abstractions with my sharpies or long & gangly sticks, writing whatever happens to spill out of my pen, & reading banned books.

This Week at Blue Dahlia - April 12

This week at Blue Dahlia - Joe St. Martin, whose chapbook Man Woman Child - published this year by Serendipity Press will be avaibable.

The reading starts at (or around) 7:30 and he will read for about a half hour followed by an Open Mic so bring something to share - a thirst for some coffee and a good ear. Hope to see you there!

Daily Headlines from the NY Times

Hello writers! I get these headlines daily and thought perhaps they would interest you. There are three full-length articles from each of the main sections of the Times. Follow instructions to sign up to get these too, if interested.

I also wanted to draw your attention to the contest advertised on the front page. If you know of a college or graduate school student who might be interested in applying to travel with Nick Kristof in Africa for the summer, please let them know about this. Deadline is 20 April, so time is of the essence, (as we all know already anyway)....

Great session yesterday! Thanks to all who so willingly participated in the writing exercise.

Cheers,

Cindy
